summer summer summer time

we are loving summer so far.
i love having g home with us everyday and so far she hasn't brought up preschool much.
she loves to help me water the flowers as does emmet.
sometimes all the time they fight over whose turn it is.
she will strip down throw on her swim suit and declare it is time to run through the sprinklers.
he likes to try to fight off the water with his shovel.
unfortunately this guy spent fathers day sick with strep throat and another external infection.
doctor visits and hospital visits abounded this weekend; the husband and i did make a 3 AM stop at krispey kreme donuts however to pick up a yummy fathers day treat. more on that later.
here is a little peek at out front porch. i have had so much fun getting it summer ready.
the log table is from my grandma holman's yard. she cut down her huge tree.

anywho i am off to cuddle my sick boy and help my girl look for her lipstick brush.
we're busy over here.

the end of her first year of preschool

i had such an inner struggling when deciding whether or not to place g in preschool or not.
i had always envisioned my kids staying home with me until they were four and do just one year of preschool. i feel like we as a society push our children to grow up to fast and i want my littles to stay little for as long as they can. i bought books on teaching them montessori teachings at home with me.
i was excited too teach her and also i just love having my days with my kids uninterrupted.
there is not really someone in our lives to fulfill a baby sitter role, so date nights are very few and very far between. but we have become a very close knit family.
the decision to put her in preschool came because of the social aspect.
she longed to spend more time with other littles. and i totally get that.
we tried a dance class first, but it did not go as planned.
so we ended up at preschool.
and you know what?!
it was great.
she loved being a part of a class and would literally run into school as fast as she could every day.
g had the very best first preschool teacher you could ask for.
her name is ms. meagan and g loved being in her class.
she is very soft spoken and had a genuine love and excitement to be her teacher.
meanwhile, i do montessori activities with the littles at home.
her is a look at g climbing up a rock wall at the off to summer school party.
she really got the hang of it and loves rock climbing.
daddy was very proud of her for picking it up so easily and has already planned future rock climbing trips with her in mind for the future.
here she is at the top, so proud of herself for making it to the top by herself.

and here we are enjoying Summer.
hope all is well and this Summer rocks like no other for everyone out there who happens to read this.

memorial day weekend

sometimes we think it is hilariously awesome to wear the same shirt.
so that sunday we both rocked our KISS shirts.
we looked pretty hot.
and check out that doll face that snuck in the picture.
we visited aunt sue for her birthday...
and later had a bbq at aunt julie's for grandma holman's birthday.
memorial day weekend is always full of birthdays in our family.
i love this picute of emmet and daddy.
i love when i capture sweet moments like this.
of course we have to get our goat time in while we are at julie's.
here we are feeding chloe the goat.
the kids could spend hours doing this.
bryan spotted the cutest little duck family on our drive home that night.
so naturally i made him pull the car over so i could get a picture of this cuteness.
who knows when i will get an opportunity like this again?

it was a fun weekend complete with end of preschool celebrations, nick's baseball games, bbqs, grandpa snell visting, and getting to soak in some time with dad before he left for work out of town for the next four days and headed up an 11 day work stretch.
