a late valentines day recap

so this post is a little late, but it's better late than never right?
well the hubby surprised me by secretly requesting valentine's off from work.
i was shocked when he showed up at home with flowers for me after school and then announced that he was taking his two girls out for a day of fun.
but before he came home, i served the dogs each a bone,
betty enjoying her bone. below is jasper's bone abandoned. he hates the camera.
since jasper abandoned said bone, grace decided she would enjoy it.
but then mom took it away.
 and poundcake was very distraught.
so she calmed down with a puzzle.
then my handsome husband came home surprised both us gals and took us up to the gateway.
poundcake enjoyed watching the water show in the center of it all.
then we headed over to barnes and noble where poundcake spent many moments checking out all of the books, but we actually made it out the store without one. that may be the first time that has happened.
we then had an ice cream break at ben and jerry's. yummy. yum. yum.
 my baby and me.
back at home later that night we talked about how much our lives have changed over the past year and a half.
how we can't believe that we have this cute little lady and a little man on the way.
we also talked about izzy and the fun times we had with her.
she was such a funny, sweet dog with the cutest little nub for a tail that she would wag a million times an hour when you got home. she died a year ago last February.
i think about her everyday.
love you izzy.

The cast is lingering still

So unforuntaley the cast did not come off, it is however holding everything in place and is doing it's job.
She was such a trooper during the x-rays that we made a special trip to Target for some more mega building blocks. I have had lots of fun building stuff with her the past couple of days.
two more weeks and hopefully her little arm will be healed.
Man it will be April by then, craziness.

As for me, this pregnancy has brought out my love for apples, in and out burgers and cereal.
I could eat those three things everyday and be happy.
The little dude in my belly sure is starting to be more active. Which I so enjoy feeling those kicks and wiggles.
I have some pretty cool ideas for his nursery and can't wait to start working on it.
me and my poundcake.

the cast comes off... hopefully

fingers are crossed at our abode that when we take this adorable little lady in for her x-ray today they will say my how your bones have healed and let's take that stinky smelly splint off of your sweet arm.

as you can see the cast did not slow her down in the least.

my little dare devil angel.

the hubby decided that she has my spirit with his energy. it is quite the combo and she wears it well.

i love this lady so much.

everyday she comes into her own a little more.

she loves to dance, watch mickey mouse clubhouse, play at the park, point to things (so cute!) , give loves to all of us including the dogs and sounds so cute when she says, "hello four." four = thor (her uncle) by the way.

well we are pretty much smitten over her which is good because that cast is ripe baby!

Pickin' a name

I don't know about all of you, but it can be hard picking out the perfect name for your little ones.

When we were pregnant with poundcake we were convinced that she was a boy. We didn't think we would ever have a little girl. So much to our surprise and excitement we found out it was a girl. Oh bliss! I had said throughout the pregnancy that on the off chance it was a girl I wanted to name her Ava and the Hubby was fine with that. However, I immediately changed my mind when we got the news. This lady in my belly was not an Ava. We then started to think of names. We liked Olivia alright, but it is such a popular name, plus it wasn't her. Then came paisley and sailor. Names I still adore, but once again it just wasn't her. Then one afternoon while sitting at my moms kitchen table looking at her pothos her name came to me. On the drive home I asked the Hubby what he thought and he loved it too. We already had the middle name picked out, it is the same as mine, and I love love love her name. We picked out the name Maya just incase she came out not looking like the name we had picked, but luckily she did and it fits her well.

With this little guy we had no names. Well the Hubby liked buster, for reals and I am not a fan. Boy names are hard for us. There doesn't seem to be as many options as you have with girl names. I kind of liked mason, but that faded fast. Then when it was confirmed a boy, we started brainstorming. We agreed on liking diesel, dawson, crosby and rocco. We decided on rocco. Then last night it happened again, while snuggling my baby girl and cruising around the Internet I came across a name that the Hubby had mentioned weeks ago. I was smitten. He suddenly fit that name. We once again had a middle name picked out, Dale after the hubby's grandfather. I then realized that the Hubby and little man would have the same initials. Pretty cool eh? So I mentioned all this to the Hubby when he came home from work a little nervous he would like Rocco better, but he thought it fit better too.
Yay the baby has a name. I am so excited! And we have four good backups if that name is just not him when he comes out.
See you soon little dude.
