g and me bake goodies

 g and me have really gotten into cooking together.

 specifically baking.

 we mostly make muffins together. she is very good at it. just check out that little lady spooning the batter into the cupcake liner.

 she pours in the ingredients,
 helps mix it up,
 spoons it out
 and has a little taste here and there.

 this makes her very happy.
 betty is always near for any droppings that may or may not occur.

it has been so good for us to cook together.

she is excited to try whatever we make and is always so proud of her creations or as she calls it,

 "nummies! nummies!"

poundcake turned two

i wanted to post pictures early, but i couldn't find my other camera card with most of the pictures from her party on it,
so for now i will post these,

 we celebrated with presents the night before her actual birthday with my mom and brother thor.

 she was so excited about her presents that she cried real tears waiting for my fam to get there to open them. she knew they were for her and she didn't understand why she had to wait. when it was time she tore into them!

 her big gift was a dollhouse that i found and fixed up a bit for her.

 she had so much fun playing with it.

 i hope this is a toy that she will keep forever and one day pass down to her own children.

 she got all the disney fairies for her birthday from my dad and she adores them. this has become their house.

 my mom gave her this cinderella doll. g has recently become a fan of this movie.

it is my moms favorite disney movie, so whenever g visits my mom puts it on for her to watch.

five months

 wow my little wooshka is five months old!

my time flys!

 just look at that face.

i could literally kiss his face all day.

but really that is one of my favorite things about being a mom to a baby. you can smother them with all the loves you want and they happily recieve them with giggles, pulling at your hair and smiles.

this little man gives me open mouthed kisses whenever i ask for a kiss.

i come away drenched in drool and more in love than ever before with this wooshka.

weight: 17 lbs 55%

height: 27.5 inches. 95%

milestones:  mr. e tries to crawl while doing tummy time and holds his bottle while feeding. he is strong too, he loves to stand with support and tries to sit up on his own.

new interests: he loves to play with his stuffed tiger. it was his very first stuffed animal i picked out for him before he was born. it is so cute to watch him with it. this morning when he woke up, he saw his tiger and immediatley grabbed it to play with and suck on the long tags.

favorite food: milk baby! but he eyes my food like it's nobodys business.

favorite toys: his tiger, football o ball, and play mat.

anything else to report: he is all smiles all the time, save bedtime and hunger strikes.

he also thinks poundcake is the coolest and funniest thing since sliced bread.

i caught a nasty cold from g. we are two sick girls over here hanging out playing dolls and looking up barbies and dolls from the disney store on the internet. i am praying e does not catch it, or the hubby for that matter.

 

good news!!!

e is NOT having seizures!

we took a couple of videos of him into the doctor today and kristi told us that it is very rare at his age, but that he is having extreme night terrors. we were told to make him comfortable and not pick him up. along wih some other guidlines. i feel such relief and an answer to many prayers.

thank you to all of those praying for our family and showing us your support.

a letter to g

miss princess poundcake,

from the day you were finally placed in my arms and on my chest and you stretched up that face of yours and kept locking your eyes with mine i have been deeply in love with you.
you are the most amazing girl i have ever met.
what i love most about you is how you find excitement in the small details of life just as much as the larger ones.
i love watching you color, build, destroy, do summer saults, dance, twirl around my finger and climb up to the tallest slide and let out a squeal of delight on your way down.
i can't believe that you are two now.
the time moves by oh so fast.
you are beautiful in every possible way.
i love your kisses and the way you say santa makes my heart melt.
cuddling with you is the best.
i love when you say, "thanks katie!"
i adore when you call me mom.
saying thanks is also your way of trying to get your way.
for example picking up a wrapped Christmas present followed by looking at me and saying,
"thanks katie!" and then opening it.
oh you are a smart tinkerbell lover!
you "rarr" when you are upset which just makes me laugh and you "rarr" louder.

thank you for teaching me how important it is to be present in life.
you also have shown me how simple life really is and how precious.

i am so blessed that the Lord blessed me with the opportunity to be your mom and friend.

it was a monday

monday was one of those days that just started as an off day.

i got irritated by someone and then got irritated with myself for getting so furious that i started ruining my own day by letting someone else's words affect me.

oh well.

then the hubby worked on the durango in the garage while i hung out with the littles.

poundcake was extra strong willed today and it got the better of me a couple of times.

little e got woken up from two naps and i was starting to think my poor baby boy may actually not get a nap into today. but thankfully he did.

after the kids naps and i snuck in a cat nap too. it was lovely. all three of us nestled on the daybed with betty in a ball by my legs and jasper on the floor.
 i was content.

i let the anger slip away, i started to care less that i still couldn't find my phone charger to my dead phone and realized once again how lucky i am to be the mom of these two amazing babies of mine.

i love them so. i love them so. oh how i love them so.

day to day life

so i realized today that i need to do more current updates of our day to day life as this has become my most common form of journaling.

work for bryan slowed down a couple of weeks ago and he has been laid off until next year.

we are enjoying having him home with us. it is so fun to actually spend dinner together as a family.

monday we took little e in for an eeg and most likely find out the results next monday or tuesday. that is my guess anyways. e did really well during the test. he did have to be asleep while they monitered him, he was so worked up after having the electrodes hooked up to him. finally i climbed into the hospital bed next to him, as per requested. the ladies doing the tests commented on how happy e is and asked if he is always like this. i replied with a yes and smiled inside myself. i was blessed with an angel baby. during these appointments poundcake has been staying at my grandma holman's. she has the best toys from when my mom was little and a piano to boot. poundcake loves to play the piano. bry just found a little piano at the local thrift for her this last saturday and she loves, he does too though.

four months

 i can't believe it has already been a little over four months since this little boy was placed on my chest and forever in my heart. he is the sweetest baby. he is a constant joy. seriously he is.

weight: 15 lbs 8oz.

height: 26 inches. 95%

milestones:  he can rollover both ways now! and he is almost able to sit up unsupported.

new interests: he still loves to suck on his fingers, but also loves to suck on his new key ring to help him while he teethes.

favorite food: milk baby!

favorite toys: his o ball. it is colorful and he loves to hold it and look at it.

anything else to report: he has an appointment tomorrow to see if we can find an answer to the seizures. i hope and pray he will have no more and he will be healthy. i love him so much. he is amazing. he talks so much. for hours at a time. it is adorable and funny. he has a minor bit of toricollis so i do excersices with him everyday to stretch the muscles in his neck.

a messy love

 i just uploaded these pictures of g.

it may have been from earlier this summer, but this is so our day to day life.

we love this this room in our house and spend the most time here.

g is usually playing or getting into something and she also naps here.

there is always laundry needing some folding and books ready to be read.

but there is also a happy family, who doesn't mind a little mess.

young prince

last night was a hard night.

this little guy, my young prince had what the doctors think may have been a seizure.

it was sad and scary to watch and bry and i just felt helpless.

we love our little prince so much.

he is honestly the sweetest baby and has such a sweet spirit.

he is so happy and laughs and talks to us all of the time.

i am so grateful to be his mom.

what a blessing he and g are in my life.

 

life is precious.

i am reminded of what is truly important.

e's blessing

On October 15, 2012 we blessed our sweet little e.

 here is the setup, pre open house.

 i found this picture at swiss days. i saw it and teared up.

there is nothing more perfect then a baby.

innocent, pure, full of life. 

the baby in the picture reminded me of my little e and i fell in love.

it was perfect for the blessing.

 here is the spread. pumpkin bread, choc. chip pumpkin bread, zucchini bread, pumpkin pie bars and cranberry bread. we also had a vegetable platter and grandma holman's famous clam chowder.
