it was at the main park there were poundcake later rode the carousel as seen in an earlier post.
the park also had pony rides, walking trails, a HUGE wagon slide and an amusement park.

so we were able to catch up and i was able to meet for the first time a lot of the hubby's fam. below is a pic of karston and poundcake. the oldest and youngest grandkids from our familia. poundcake adored him. and she wasn't to into any one else that was there.
i thought it was pretty cute.
the next day we drove up to spokane for some family time, just us three. where poundcake rode her first carousel.
here she is at the start with bry. she was excited and liked it--at first.
but half way through she was over it and wanted off. as you can see from her face below.
oh how i love that mug.

we love you grandma christensen

this sweet, gentle lady is the reason behind our road trip. she passed away on july 8, 2011.
she was a sweet, thoughtful, giving and beautiful lady.
she will be greatly missed by the hubby especially.
he loved her so.
as i was going through my computer for pictures we have of her, i came upon this one above and it made me start to tear up.
bryan helping her up the stairs of my childhood home on our wedding day.
i remember her telling me when i first met her how bryan never once said goodbye with out telling her that he loved her and how special that was to her.

i am so grateful to have known you.
we are lucky that you were able to come to baby girls blessing.
we love and miss you.
til we meet again...

we must stop for poundcake to roam...

...and because i wasn't feeling to great. it was sure nice to get out of the teeny, tiny car. poundcake just started crawling all over the grass. we stopped in boise, which is the half way point and needed somewhere clean for her to crawl since we did not have a hotel room yet. we found a church next to the boise temple and parked ourselves there. after sufficient amounts of crawling we walked around the temple grounds. it was beautiful.

after checking into a hotel room and hanging out there for a while we went to one of the hubby's favorite places to eat. cracker barrel. here's baby girl in a cute wooden rocking chair that i wish we could have taken home for her.
then it was back to the hotel room where i was sick and poundcake was excited to roam around a big room instead of being trapped inside that car for one more minute.
as for the hubby, he made sure we were both happy.
gotta love that about him.

mommy's trip trick

so i will try to blog all of our trip this week and next. hopefully. so hubby, baby girl and i were crammed into this tiny tin can of a thing with a muffler that had a hole in it, which makes for noisy driving. we rented a car and this little thing was all they had on hand and we had to go-- so onward we went. the plan was to at least make it to boise. this was poundcake after a few hours in the car. "get me out!" her cries are saying.
think fast mommy moment = a popsicle.
she LOVED it.
Happy baby means happy driving.
