the birthday cake

here comes the cake as we sing the birthday song and poundcake is mesmerized.

poundcake surveys the cake taking it all in. not knowing quite what to think about this colorful thing or what she should do with it.

so mom stepped in and gave her a finger full of chocolate icing. yummmm!

"i think i like that." says poundcake and then tries a little bit more.

"yes indeed i do mom. this is good."

"this may be the best thing i have ever tasted!"

"here mom try some."

"you too dad!"

will i ever sleep???

Boy I love this little girl. She however has not grasped the concept of sleeping through the night. A trait she must of picked up from me who didn't sleep through the night either. Unfortunately on the nights she actually does sleep for a decent amount of time I'm up. Why? Why? Why? Something wakes me, what I don't know and then I can't get back to sleep. I'm sooooo tired. But look at that face above. TOTALLY WORTH IT! I just wanted to complain a little.

we tried to take christmas pictures, but it didn't work

so we asked my brother thor to take some pictures for us that we could use in our christmas cards this year. well poundcake only wanted her uncle thor. as you can see in the picture above happy for thor. and in the pictures below...

...not happy for us. tears, screams and reaching for uncle thor. nothing we could do or say could appease this little girl.

this is as close as we came to a holiday card picture. sigh. we will try again when uncle thor is not around.

i still can't get over how much i love this girl

i came across these pictures after i had published my halloween post and was so sad that i didn't include any of us having lunch with our sweetie. i can't get over how sweet and cute and beautiful and full of life and curious and content and amazing and a thousand other things she is. i'm happy just to watch her eat a cracker. i hit the jackpot with this lady. i am so lucky to be her mom. i thank our heavenly father every day.

all hallows eve

on halloween we had some at fun at wheeler farms before we showed our bumble bee off to the fam. we fed the ducks and birds, checked out all the animals, went on a hayride, made our way through a cornmaze and picked a pumpkin. glory days it was fun!

a lot has changed

she is so not ok with the bumbo and hasn't been for a couple months now. "do not confine me" is a popular theme with her, especially as of late.

she no longer wants to explore things from a seated position, but would rather move freely to and fro.

and that means no more crawling for her as well. she is walking! ok she does crawl sometimes as she is much, much faster at it. it's amazing how fast they grow up. seriously! (pics from julyish)

and i seriously wish this little girl izz was her experiencing it with us. i still miss her daily.

adventure's out there

here is my sweet poundcake, always into something.

just love that her diaper is half off and she has not a care in the world.

last night I painted my fingernails instead of plucking my eyebrows

Really I should have plucked my brows, but somehow the nails sounded more fun. The Hubby was still at work and he hates the smell of nail polish so with the little lady finally in bed I painted my nails. On a side note, when I was pregnant bry would paint my toes for me. How sweet is that?! Any who a lot on my mind since I was able to listen to most of conference this past weekend. Just the pick me up I needed.
I am so blessed and my heavenly father loves me and my little family. I wouldn't trade my Hubby or poundcake for the world. The love they give me is all I need.
Poundcake is growing up fast. She is so close to walking. She will take a couple steps, get nervous and then sit down. She has started walking on her knees and it is adorable. She is the cutest little thing. Nothing makes me happier than when she smiles at me. Oh and I love when I get her to laugh.
I love my house. If you were to come over right now you would catch us in the middle of twelve projects. But I am happy I have a house that I can make feel like a home.
With the summer weather looking like it is coming to an end I am enjoying cooking more. Which is good cause the Hubby needs a lot of food to get him through the day. Huh now I'm hungry with no idea what to make tonight.
Oh and that will probably be the end of my trip posts. I'm relieved to have gotten most of it done.

spokane falls

here we are after we first arrived in spokane in line to ride the gondola over the falls.

it was at the main park there were poundcake later rode the carousel as seen in an earlier post.

the park also had pony rides, walking trails, a HUGE wagon slide and an amusement park.
