e's first birthday party

mr.e you have no idea how you have changed me.
so many people comment on how you are such an easy going happy little man.
and it is so true.
that is you through and through.
you were a born sweetheart and stiller of hearts.
you stole mine at first sight.
so this birthday was to celebrate the amazingness of YOU.

and what better way than to throw an ice cream party!
after all ice cream is your favorite!

your very own chocolate smash cake was complete with some darling pennants.
we served chocolate and vanilla monkey cupcakes to the guests.
the spread also included four differet kinds of ice cream, sprinkles, nuts, graham crackers carmel and waffle cones or cups to make your own ice cream cone.
you looked oh so adorable in your star suspenders.
uncle jamie provided the musical entertainment and his bird, pretty bird performed as well.
then it was time for your smash cake.
you really seemed to like it.
i mean just look at your chocolate covered face.
and g sure seemed to get in the spirit of it all with her cupcake.
after cake and ice cream it was time for presents.
you made sure you had your favorite red spoon with you at all times.
you thought your chewy doll we gave you was pretty awesome.
i loved that throughout the whole gift opening process that red spoon did not leave your left hand.
it was pretty cute just like you.
the party was a hit little man.

we sure love you mr. e!

happy birthday mr. e!!!

you are beautiful and I love you.

In June we...

enjoyed face painting, a bounce house and our picnic at the farmer's market
fixed up this new to us scooter for doll
(this is the before picture)
built a tent for the littles.
 went canoeing at the aquarium
got stuck in the worst traffic jam on the way to said aquarium.
we sat in this mess for 45 minutes.
sadly this was because of a car/motorcycle accident.
the kids are awake from naps and ready to get moving.
had more fun with our splash center
ran around our first splash pad
 planted flowers
saw the giraffes at the zoo
decked out mr. p's cooler for father's day and filled it up with all sort of goodies for his work week.
dolly put together a magnetic dinosaur at the dinosaur museum
both of the kids tried their first popsicles
we went to the local parade
we had tons of fun splashing around with our new water toys
and I made some decorations for independence day peeps!

both pictures were taken this past Saturday waiting for the parade to begin.
it is a new family tradition that we started this year.

p.s. poundcake is playing with her hair like mulan does after she sings "reflection" in the movie.
pretty darn cute!
