My Pound Cake loves this...

I am referring to the frame above. I found this frame at D.I. years ago and just recently added the fabric and pearl pushpins to display my necklaces on so that they would stop getting tangled together. I finished it right before the Pound Cake made her arrival, and when placing her furniture in our room for the first couple months of her life I placed her changing table below it.

Jump to about three weeks old and she discovers with those beautiful bright eyes of hers the frame full of jewelry. She was so captivated. She would just sit and stare at it and then smile at it then eventually coo and talk to it while kicking her arms and legs. She enjoys it so much that if she is having a melt down I know its time to gaze at the frame. Is she already cultivating her own love of jewelry like her momma? Either way the frame, jewelry and all will move in with her when she moves on to her own room. And so the jewelry collection begins!

Kidney Stones in 2011! Hip hip horray!

Yes my dears I rung in the new year with a kidney stone. A huge kidney stone the doctors tell me. I am going in tomorrow for a same day surgery procedure and I am a little nervous about it since this is the first surgery of any kind I have ever had. I have that little nagging voice in the back of my head saying, "What if they put you under and you never wake up?" Highly unlikely I know, but I'm paranoid like that. However since they highly doubt I will pass the stone on my own and I have been dealing with the pain and nausea that come along with it for five days now, I see no other way of getting this kidney stone out. So as far as this new year goes, this one has been painful. Literally. And yes a kidney stone is the closest you can come to labor pains. But at the end of your labor you have a precious baby and at the end of a kidney stone you have just that, a kidney stone. I hope all my peeps out there are being showered with love and happiness during this new year and dodging any stones that may come your way. I'll keep you updated on why this befalled me.
