our afternoon at the park

we were enjoying a nice afternoon of 49 degree weather a couple of weeks ago.

now we have a little bit of snow.

but we took advantage that afternoon and went to the playground by our house.

 this was poundcake's first time on the swings. she really enjoyed it. at first. then she was done.

 then she danced on the wood chips.

 and sat down to inspect these said wood chips closer.

 look at how cute she is holding her little hands like that. she has been folding her arms a lot lately as well.

i find it quite adorable.

and then she is off to explore yet another playground. 

i can't wait for more beautiful weather so we can spend more afternoons like this.

peanut butter face

so we were taking a drive to black bear diner and the hubby thought he knew the way, but alas he did not. well we were so hungry! especially the child. after half an hour of the promise of food and all car snacks eaten she wanted more. the hubby said he had a jar of peanut butter. i said "no." but then weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth occurred and i gave in. here is what ensued.

of course these pictures were taken in december. i'm playing catch up still.

poundcake love books

 books are a daily part of little poundcake's daily life. and she loves books. and i love that she loves books.
i hope this is a love that she will always have. i started reading to her the week we brought her home from the hospital. back then her books were in much better shape. as you can see in the above picture my snow white book from when i was little is taking a tearing into. sigh. oh well. the first books that i read to her were nice paperbacks with beautiful pictures that now live on a high shelf where she won't be able to get her hands on them until she is older as i don't want all of her books to have the same fate as snow white.
on another note, this sweatshirt that she is wearing was a Christmas gift from her great grandma holman and is a size too big, but she is inlove with the cat in the awesome cat-eye glasses and loves to wear it. when she wears it she tries to pull the cat up to her to talk to and kiss. she is the cutest ever! love you my favorite poundcake!

playin' in the kitch

poundcake is always finding new and inventive things to play with. it just so happens that her latest hot spot is our drawer below our oven. She actually has been doing this for awhile now and i took these pictures clear back in november and am just now getting around to posting them. lame mom i am. i need to stay more on top of these things. she still does play here, supervised of course and with no cooking taking place. so no worries.

one more thing. check out those beautiful eyes and lips! 

second thing, she has been super social with other kiddos lately, i hope this is a sign that she will love being a big sister. this is something i worry about often, as excited as i am for our new bundle, i want to make sure that my baby girl is happy and always feels loved. 

oh and a third thing, i find out later this month what i am having!!! can't wait any longer peeps! the anticipation is killing me! Especially since i go back and forth hourly on the gender.
